Field Trip to the Florida Pioneer Museum

Join the HHPS for a fun day at the Pioneer Florida Museum and Village.  The museum complex includes Overstreet House, a one-room schoolhouse, a church, a train depot, a train engine, and a museum exhibition of tools, household items, antiques and farm equipment. Costs for admission is $6 senior, $8 adult, $4 student.

Field Trip to the Stetson Mansion

Members of Historic Hernando Preservation Society traveled to Stetson Mansion in DeLand Florida. The weather on Friday, December 18 was comfortable, providing just the right formula for a perfect outing.

HHPS Field Trip to Stetson Manor

The Stetson Manor field trip will take place on November 18th. The tour starts at 1:30 in Deland, so we will need to leave Brooksville by 10:00 a.m.  The cost is 26.63 cash, and parking is free.  We will need to have RSVP's no later than November 1st so we can solidify the reservations.  The Mansion will be decorated for Christmas, and the owners have promised a stellar tour that lasts between 75-90 minutes in duration.  We strongly recommend that people car pool, and if time permits, we will …

June 4th: Citrus County Coastal Heritage Museum. 532 Citrus Ave., Crystal River 34428, 352-257-3870. This is a quaint little museum that offers ideas of a former City Hall/Fire Department/Police Department turned museum. Despite itʼs small size, it holds a large amount of historical information. Field Trip to Dade Battlefield State Park

May 28th: Dade Battlefield State Park. We will be engaging in a program entitled “Cherokee Leaf Printing and Native Dyes”. The program is between 10:00 a.m.-12:00. It is located at 7200 CR 603, Bushnell, FL 33513, 352-793-4781. Admission is $3.00 per vehicle. You are welcome to wander through the battlefield, and enjoy the local history. Field trip to the Inverness Historic Courthouse

APRIL 8th: Field trip to the Inverness Historic Courthouse. Located at One Courthouse Square, Inverness 34450. 352-341-6429. We will meet at the Inverness Courthouse on Friday, at 11:00 a.m. (The courthouse is not open on the week ends.) The tour takes approximately 1.5 hours. Micanopy Field Trip

The HHPS is hosting a Field Trip to the historic town of Micanopy on Saturday, November 14. 

The group will meet in the Burger King parking lot near 50 and I-75 at 10:00 a.m. The trip to Micanopy is about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival, we will be lunching at the Old Florida Cafe located at 203 NE 1st Ave, Micanopy.
